First Workshop with Richard Sweeney

We had our first workshop with Richard Sweeney. He introduced us to working with paper, this was the first time i realised how versatile paper could be. He is a very talented artist and we were very lucky to work with him. Below is an example of his work;

From looking at his sketch book and him showing us where to start my experimentation began, in this first workshop the models are very simple and the main approach i took was seeing what the paper could do and in which way it can bend and how you can interact the paper with itself , folding it and interweaving it. Here are some images of the very first models i produced;

A theme i noticed throughout my models was one of the skeleton, how the thin lines of paper cross over with each other and work together to produce a larger model.
